Abstract

In this study, evaluation of different Transformer Diagnostics used in the 62.5MVA Power Transformer located at CBK-NPC Compound in Kalayaan Laguna is being discussed. Some of these diagnostic tests used in the 62.MVA Power Transformer are Dissolve Gas Analysis (DGA), Transformer Turns-Ratio Test, DC Winding Resistance Test, Insulation Resistance and Polarization Index Test, Dissipation Factor and Insulation Power Factor Test, and Partial Discharge Analysis. These tests were performed by professionals in the field due to the high level of danger and accuracy needed for each test. Data of each test were given by the company to be interpreted for the detection of the fault present in the transformer. Each data were interpreted using different IEEE/ANSI standards and guides. For the purpose of this study, two cases were presented in which different set of tests were used to diagnose the condition of each problem present. One in which the transformer is completely broken and the other as a preventive maintenance. Each set of test presented different fault present in the transformer.
