Abstract
Abstract: The major farm practice was done at DHM Farms, Barangay Marilag, Rosario, Batangas from April to May 2012. The farm operates as a farrow to finish enterprise. The farm has an estimated land area of 8 hectares with a 300 sow level capacity. The student was able to have a hands-on experience in the common practices being done in a swine farm. Basic skills such as record keeping, disease detection, litter management and other management practices that are necessary in a farm operation were acquired by the student. The whole management practices from breeding to farrowing were observed and performed. A technical analysis of the farm performance and management practices was made by the student. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats were assessed and were the basis in making recommendations which may help further improve the farms? performance.
