The objectives of the farm practice were to have the student participate in actual management pravtices of the farm, be familiar with common problems existing in a farm, put into application theoretical knowledge learned from the university, evaluate the practices performed in the farm, and learn how to interact with the different people in the industry. Different management practices and activities were performed such as feeding, cleaning, breeding, collecting semen, assisting in farrowing, ear notching, castrating, weaning, medicating, and marketing which allowed the student to meet all objectives of the farm practice. Strengths, weaknesses, and other observations were documented and analyzed to determine best recommendations for the farm.
