Abstract
One of the country's leader in production of raw and refined sugar, Central Azucarera Don Pedro Inc., more known as CADPI, offers excellent quality of its sugar production order to satisfy the needs of its consumers . In order to do so, the company requires raw materials such asa sugar cane, as source of sucrose, and water, as process material and cooling agent. This manuscript deals with the utilization of cooling water in both the raw factory and refinery of CADPI. The efficiency of utilization will also be discussed as to bring light to the factory's use of the nations declining natural resources. The limitation of this manuscript is that it does not dwell in the environmental changes that nay effect the evaporative cooling process. It also does not tackle the undetermined losses of cooling water. With this knowledge, effective change can be done to improve the current cooling water system of any sugar factory. Furthermore, knowledge obtained through this paper can be used for the establishment of a more effective cooling water system-not limited to the sugar industry.
