Abstract

One of the common problems faced by companies today is the effect of power disturbances ranging from simple power failures to the more complex transients and harmonics. The damage to equipments and electrical systems can be very costly. An Uninterruptible Power Supply is a major solution to the problem since it can protect loads and its level of protection cannot be matched by any other type of protective devices. RPV Electro Technology Phils. Corp. is a growing company that provides customers the quality and best value electrical products, solutions and services for the benefits of their operation in terms of efficiency, safety, preventive and predictive maintenance and environment protection. The installation of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is one of the projects that demonstrate their commitment to become one of the leading electrical service providers in the country. Discussed in this paper are the different factors involved in the installation such as the selection, setup and specifications of the UPS, installation considerations, installation procedure and test procedures that affect the overall success of the project. Important steps to follow when performing each stage of the installation process are stated including data acquisition and analysis.
