Abstract

RPV Electro Technology Phils. Corp is a company that specializes in Energy and Billing Management Systems, Power Quality Monitoring and Solutions, and Power System Engineering and Services. They take part in the installation, monitoring and maintenance of electrical equipment and devices. One of their maintenance tests is low resistance testing. It is used for maintenance of busbars, circuit breakers, transformers and motors. Only qualified engineers are allowed to perform this test. This paper identifies the procedure of low resistance testing on busbars, circuit breakers, transformers and motors. Sample data are given in order to fully analyze how low resistance testing is done. The factors that affect the measurements are also analyzed for the said electrical equipment and devices. The corrective actions performed to counter these factors are also enumerated in this study. Lastly, the importance of low resistance testing on busbars, circuit breakers, transformers and motors are discussed.
