Abstract

The field practice was conducted at Central Azucarera Don Pedro, Inc. (CADPI)situated at Brgy. Lumbangan, Nasugbu, Batangas. CADPI is an integrated sugar manufacturer with raw sugar mill and sugar refinery. Through the period of two hundred eighty-eight (288) internship hours, sufficient knowledge in the operations was acquired from the following departments: Mills, Boilers, Boiling House, Refinery, Quality Control, Environmental Management and Safety Department and Boilers Water Treatment Plant. In addition, a special topic was given regarding the fouling of the tertiary and final heaters. Through the use of the general method of computing fouling, available plant data and correlations found in the literature, the fouling factor is determined and evaluated. No significant effect of fouling was found on the juice heaters however better instrumentation is needed to verify the result.
