Abstract

Factors affecting rice productivity in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) are examined in this study. Forty nine postulated factors were subjected to stepwise regression to isolate those which have significant effects on rice yield. A multiple linear regression model was formulated to identify which of the significant factors have the strongest effect on rice yield. The model was also used to determine the magnitude of the effect of the identified significant factors. The results of the study showed that technological factors have the strongest effect on rice yield. These would include irrigation (farm type), seed used and sources of power in harrowing and harvesting.
