Abstract

The current process of DDT Konstract, Inc. (DDTKI), a general contractor, is considered a traditional approach where drawings are presented on blueprints and are limited to two-dimensional sketches only. The process of documentation is done through storing of the printed files. With the traditional approach, construction errors and delays undeniably occur. These entail additional budget from the client that is requested through change orders. A new approach called Building Information Modeling (BIM) is proposed to be integrated in the workflows of DDTKI. Literature provides tools and methods to be incorporated on the workflows. These materials were used as the basis for BIM adoption.Consequently, the result of the study follows the BIM execution plan provided by the general contractors in the United States. The process of DDTKI was reconstructed to establish a digital platform (web-based) where construction drawings can be uploaded, downloaded, and viewed. The digital platform comprises of tools working in an interoperable manner.
