Abstract

High percentages of crude wax (petroleum other extract) Were obtained from all samples. The solvent used in wax ox- traction, the air-drying, and the preservation of press cake using formanlin, did not apparently afford the N, P205: K2O, and Cn0 contents of the filter press cake. Generally, slight differences An the contents-of H,-P205y K20,-and-Co0-contente of the filter press take. Generally, slight differences in the contents of N, P2Os, Kg0, and cn0 were found among the cakes from the ten sugar centrals. Some slight differences may be traced to differences in varieties of the cone milled and milling practices in the different factories. The results of analysis indicate that filter press cake can be a good fertilizer and soil builder, a promising source of commercial wax, and probably a suitable stock feeds.
