Abstract
The general objective of this study was to analyze the demand for live musical performances of students in the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). Specifically, the study aimed to provide a profile of the live musical performance industry in UPLB, determine the factors affecting the demand of UPLB students for live musical performances, and estimate the relevant demand elasticities of live musical performances. The study found that the demand for live musical performances is significantly affected by average ticket price of concert tickets, the allowance of the individual and the individual’s previous consumption or attendance in live musical performances. Using the income and own-price elasticities, the study found that the demand for live musical performances in UPLB was inelastic. It was also found that concerts were normal goods for UPLB students.
