Abstract
From the results obtained, the production of taller and more suckers was significantly increased over the control; by hilling the plants around the base, mulching abaca hills, or limiting the number of suckers in a hill. Hilling-up ranked first with a mean of 19.4 suckers; mulching, second , with a mean of 16.4 suckers; control, third, with a mean of 11.6 suckers; and limiting the number of suckers, last, with a mean of 6 suckers. But in the diameter and height of suckers, thinning the number of suckers in a hill gave the highest mean. Hilling was second; mulching, third; and control, last.
