Abstract
Five varieties of squash were compared as to their fruit characteristics and yields. Highly significant differences were obtained with reference to weight, length, and diameter of fruits. The percentage of edible parts ranged from 86.5 to 91.8 and the yield. from 1.3 to 2.4 kilograms, in all the replications of variety.
Generally the five varieties studied were vigorous and healthy. Malagkit na Bilog had the highest yield per hectare with a fair eating quality, and Calabasita the lowest but the best in eating quality.
