Abstract

Five varities of squash were compared as to their fruit characters and yields. Highly significant differences were obtained with reference to weight, length and diameter of fruits. The percentage of edible parts ranged from 86.5 to 91.8 to 2.4 kilograms, in all the replications of variety.

Generally, the five varieties studied were vigorous and healthy. Malagkit na bilog had the highest yield per hectare with a fair eating quality, and Calabasits the lowest but the best in eating quality.
