Abstract

This study conducted to assess the present performance of Anty's PAtis and Bagoong Balayan fish processing business in Lian, Batangas. Specifically, it aimed to : (1) present the history and operations of Anty's Patis and Bagoong Balayan firm, (2) identify the strengths and weaknesses of the business as well as the opportunities and threats facing them, (3) identify and analyze the problems confronting the business, and (4) formulate strategies and recommendations regarding the problems identified. Descriptive analysis was used to gather information. A personal interview with the owner was conducted. Financial statements were utilized to determine and evaluate the performance of the firm. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats and the problems encountered were identified and analyzed to come up with recommendations that will further improve the performance of the firm. Among the problems identified were (1) lack of employee that will do the record keeping, (2) contamination of the products due to overflowing of water, (3) increasing number of inventories, (4) lesser sales due to few distribution channel, and (5)high amount of collectibles. the following were suggested: (1) assign the owner's wife to do the record keeping, (2) relocate the earthen jars, (3) monitor the inventory volume of the firm (4) establish new selling points in different areas, and (5) good keeping should be practiced.
