The effect of nitrogen was more on the production of seeds rather on the production of green pods. Improvements over the central in dry seed yield were realized at as low as 50kg N to a ha, while 1% seeds at least 150 kg. N to a ha to produce significantly higher green pod yields over the treatments without nitrogen.
Results also indicated the value of the split application of nitrogen fertilizer.
The feasible influences of two important factors, a fungus diseases and irrigation, on the effect of nitrogen fertilizer was discussed and recommendations were made for improvement.
