Abstract

Kapok-root induction by the use of indolebutyric acid depended on the concentration of the acid and the duration of immersion. The treatments effective for rooting were 1-mg. per 100 ml. 1-day to 3 days durations, 10 mg per 100 ml. for the 1 hour to 3 days and 100 mg. per 100 mg. per 100 ml. for the 1-hour to 1-day durations. The 100-mg. per 100 ml. treatment caused injury to cuttings which had been immersed for 2 to 3 days.
