Abstract

Twenty-four varieties of upland and lowland rice were grown in a "replicated" trial in the dry season of 1953 - 1954. Peta (77.8 Cav.) and Buenketan (66.6 Cav.) significantly outyielded the checks. Maturity of the19 varieties ranged from 97 to 118 days and were significantly correlated with yield at the5% level. Varieties which loaded heavily were Sinantonio, Thailand, Guinangang, Mangasa, and Naradhan. The milling percentage of the fourteen varieties ranged from 51.4 to 63.6 per cent.
