Abstract

Border effects in experimental plots with different population and fertilizer levels were evaluated in sorghum during the dry and wet season, 1959. Border effects on the outermost row were detected in four out of twelve cases. None of the trials showed border effects extending beyond the first row. It is therefore recommended that in sorghum filed experiments the outer row should be discarded as borders.
