Abstract

The best generation and seedling growth for analysis was obtained at 300 C in the filter paper test. In the sand test, ampalaya seeds germinated very well at room temperature (x * 26.40C). The tallest seedling was obtained at room temperature (x * 26.40C) to 300 C in 50-70 percent moisture saturation.

Rolled towel test for patola seeds showed that best germination could be obtained at room temperature (x * 26.40C). the seeds germinated very well at 25-75 percent moisture saturation levels with temperature ranging from room temperature (x * 26.40C) to 350C.

Upo exhibited low germination probably because of dormancy. Highest percentage germination was obtained at 30o in the rolled filter paper test. In the sand test, a suitable combination of 50 percent moisture saturation level and temperature from room temperature (x * 26.40C) to 30oC was most favorable for germination and seedling growth.

In the germination test for each kind of seed , the first count could be done on the third day, fifth day and seventh day from sowing for patola, ampalaya and up and the final count could be done on the seventh day from sowing for upo.
