Abstract

Field trial results of five tomato varieties; and three varieties each of cabbage and cauliflower distributed as mini-kits to twenty nine Provincial Vegetable Specialists were submitted to UPCA for evaluation.

Cabbage varieties F1K-K and F1K-Y were much superior to Marion Market. Yields of the two newly developed varieties of tomato, VC 9-1 and VC 49-1. were arithmetically higher than improved Harbot and 2029 but were not statistically significant. All the four varieties of tomato were much better than Tropi Red. All cauliflower varieties (Early 55 Days, Tainung Extra Early and Ilocos Early) did not perform well in the locations stidied.
