Abstract
Rhodes grass produced the highest total fresh herbage yield with 43.71 tons. Alabang grass, the check species, gave the lowest total yield, with 30.39 tons per hectare. Based on total dry matter yield, the grasses ranked in descending order as follows: Rhodes grass, African Blue grass, Delhi grass, Pangola grass, Alabang grass and Pre War Digitaria
A very significant variation in other agronomic characters were observed among species.
