Abstract

Large excel set of experiment III gave significantly heavier weight per bulb than small and medium Red Globe sets. In experiments I and III there was a highly significant differences between Red Globe and Excel in bulb weight to a plot.

In general, the larger the size of sets the higher the percentage of multiple bulbs. All excel sets gave a higher mean percentage than Red Globe.

Fusarium bulb rot (Fusarium zonatum (Sherb.) Wr. formal) was the most serious disease that attacked the onion bulbs, and Prudenia litura Fabr. was the most injurious insect pest.
