Abstract

Cross protection reduces subsequent severity of infection by bacterial wilt in three varieties of tomato. However, it does not reduce the number of infections in plants but only the intensity of the disease. A 24-hour time interval between two inoculations is best in treating plants with different combinations of bacterial wilt strains.

Ginger strain of bacterial wilt reduces the severity of infection of tomato and pepper strains of bacterial wilt better than abaca strain.
