Abstract

The use of "NOPGRO", an enzyme-containing feed supplement, in the College and Commercial laying mashes resulted in a slight increase in egg production of single Comb White Leghorn pullets. Feed consumption, number of standard-size dozen eggs and cost of feed per standard-size dozen eggs were also increased slightly, but feed efficiency was not improved. No effect was noted in body weight gain and daily mortality with "NOPGRO" supplementation in the College laying mash. With the commercial laying mash, feed efficiency was improved, but feed consumption, gain in body weight and cost of feed per standard-size dozen eggs were decreased to some extent. Daily mortality and the number of standard-size dozen eggs produce were not affected.

Statistical treatment of all measures used in this experiment showed no significant differences.
