Abstract

Three hundred households wore made subject of the study pertaining to milk and milk products consumption potential in the town proper of Biñan, Laguna in 1968.

More than 58 per cent preferred carabao's fresh milk to either cows or goat's milk. Weekly purchases of milk and its products were the most common in the area regardless of the size and income of the households. It was found that as income increases, per capita consumption of milk and its products increases correspondingly. However, per capita consumption was inversely proportional to the sine or households. Per 'capita oonsum7t1on was directly related to the educational attainment of the homemakers.

Only 11 per cent of the homemakers knew the . existence of the fresh milk being produced and processed
