Abstract

Field and pot experiments were conducted in the Division of Farm Crops in 1966 to determine the effect of fertilizer placement on the yield and other agronomic characters of peanut.

Seed yield and its components (number of pods per plant and number of marketable pods per plant) were significantly affected at 5% level by fertilizer placement. The yields obtained when the fertilizer was placed 5 cm. below the seeds were higher than the yields at other placement for filed and pot experiments.

Results also show that the other agronomic characters of peanut were not significantly affected by fertilizer placement.
