Abstract
This paper presents a resource allocation problem in provincial hospital using goal programming approach. The subject under study is the Laguna Provincial Hospital (LPH) located in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. The model embodies various objectives pertinent to the problem and its priorities according to the administrator’s desire. The model is formulated for the purpose of obtaining the optimum allocation mix of manpower and capital resources based upon the hospital’s calendar year 1989 budget and an assumption of 10% cutdown in budget. The results provided by the study enables the hospital administrations to choose and wisely between the alternative course of actions they should take.
