Abstract
Several properties of graphs particularly on connected graphs which includes minimally connected graphs or trees, spanning trees, directed trees were related to some concepts in numerical taxonomy. These are the concepts on taxonomic relationships, clustering methods and heirarchical structures of a set of units under classification. Then, situations where clustering and cladistics naturally arise were sited and solutions using the Kruskal Algorithm in finding the shortest spanning tree were presented. Also, a graph - theoretic approach to numerical taxonomy was discussed.
