Abstract
Two species of predatory phytoseiid mites, Indoseiulus liturivorus (Ehara) and Proprioselopsis elongatus (German), are first recorded as naturally existing members of the Philippine fauna. The presence of a commercially available and exotic predator, Phytoseiulus persimilis Athias-Henriot, is also documented under confined rearing conditions in La Trinidad, Benguet. The males of two species, Proprioselopsis lenis (Corpuz and Rimando) and Proprioseiulus kopaeus (Schicha and Corpuz-Raros), are described for the first time, Indoseiulus semirregularis (Schicha and Corpuz-Raros) is transferred from the genus Amblyseius. Infection of laboratory stock cultures of P. lenis with the endosymbiotic bacterium, Wolbachia, is also reported as a first case among Philippine Acari.
