Normal-state Hall effect in (formula presented) and (formula presented)
Abstract
The normal-state Hall effect is studied in thin-film samples of the isomorphic pair of superconductors (formula presented) (Hg-1212) and (formula presented) (Tl-1212). A comparison of the slopes of inverse Hall mobility (formula presented) together with a comparison of characteristic temperature (formula presented) below which there is a systematic deviation from (formula presented) suggests that Hg-1212 has twice the charge-carrier density of Tl-1212 for samples with close to optimal (formula presented) This is attributed to the significant role played by the redistribution of oxygen as a result of exchanging Hg and Tl cations. © 2001 The American Physical Society.
