Genetic mapping of isozyme markers in mungbean (Vigna radiata L. Wilczek) and blackgram (Vigna mungo L. Hepper) II. Inheritance and linkage relationship
Abstract
The inheritance of seven enzyme systems from leaves of a V. radiata x V. mungo interspecific cross and the linkage relationship among 14 isozyme loci were studied. All isozymes appeared to be monomers controlled by two alleles. Eight isozymes exhibited dominance, one co-dominance and the rest deviated significantly from expected Mendelian ratios. Three linkage groups were identified in this study. Dia-2, Mal-1, Est-2, Per-4 and Est-9 formed the first linkage group. The second linkage group was composed of Est-5, Est-6 and Sdh-1 while Est-3 and Dia-1 belong to the third linkage group. The other isozymes Acp-1, Aap-2, Est-4 and Est-8 were unlinked.
