A political ecology model of environmental policy in the Philippines: implications to forest management

Abstract

Analyses of environmental transition is the Philippines and elsewhere are reviewed against certain demographic and institutional movements in the country over the last 100 years. A model is proposed on how the transitions might be explained by the distribution of political power among stakeholders of a resources. Focus is placed on forestry.
