Not quite obvious and so rare: taxonomy of webspinners (Embioptera) from the UPLB campus and vicinity, Mt. Makiling, Laguna
Issue Date

Abstract
Present observations and specimen collections in Luzon suggest that several species of Embioptera may be common despite previous, almost universally accepted assumption among entomologists that they are rare. The taxonomy of the order Embioptera or webspinners within the vicinity of Mt. Makiling was studied. Three species of webspinners were collected and identified using the identification keys for males. These species are Oligotoma humbertiana (Saussere), Oligotoma soundersii (Westwood) and Aposthonia borneensis (Hagen). Colonies were also collected for the author's future ecological studies.
