Parasitization of Bakera nigrobilineata (Melichar) (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) by an unidentified strepsipteran
Issue Date
10-2015
Abstract
An unidentified female strepsipteran species was found parasitizing, either singly or in pairs, the mango leafhopper Bakera nigrobilineata (Melichar) collected from mango trees in the UPLB lower campus from February 2013 to January 2014. No male parasitoid was observed for the duration of the study and the female was assumed to be parthenogenic. Based on initial examination, we suspect the species to belong to genus Halictophagus.
