Light-trapping of major rice insect pests and natural enemies in PHILRICE Agusan
Issue Date
10-2012
Abstract
The reduction in rice yield caused by insect pests can be minimized when properly monitored and predicted. Monitoring of insect pests and their natural enemies showed population fluctuation trends. Weekly monitoring using light trap is an effective strategy for determining the population of arthropods present in a given locality and when control measure against the pests should be employed.
