Issue Date

Seedlings of leguminous trees were collected from the vicinity of the Forestry campus in Mt. Makiling. Root nodules of the seedlings were examined regarding their morphological characteristics. Seedlings of species belonging to the Family Mimosaceae and Papilionaceae had 60-100% nodulation. Nodules were nor found in the seedlings of species under Family Caesalpiniaceae. Degree of nodulation and nodule morphology was characterized according shape, color, surface texture and size.
