Ecological studies on Laguna de Bay. I. Phytoplankton composition, abundance and distribution
Issue Date
6-1990
Abstract
A survey of the composition and abundance of phytoplankton species in selected localities of Laguna de Bay was done from February to May 1984. The following water quality parameters were determined: water temperature, pH, water transparency and electrical conductivity. Phytoplankton composition and species density differed among the various localities. The diatoms were numerically dominant, followed by the blue-green algae with Microcystisas, the lone species that formed an algal bloom.
