Techniques of potato germplasm evaluation for broad mite [Polyphagotarsonemus Latus (Banks)] resistance
Issue Date

Abstract
The best infestation technique to screen potato get, plasm against the broad mite (Polyphagonarsonemus lotus (Banks) was the use of one leaflet with 5+10 adult broad mites. This technique manifested damage symptom significantly earlier than the technique of using a male adult carrying a female pups. On the other hand, the selected resistance criteria for screening potato germplasm were the number of days from artificial infestation to appearance of damage symptoms and the final damage rating. More over, only the infested shoot, and not the whole plant, should be rated for damage.
