Abstract

This study evaluates suicide response protocols at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) through a round table discussion involving 21 participants, including university officials, law enforcement officers, and campus security personnel. Utilizing the Rensis Likert method and agree-disagree questions, the study examines key concerns such as reporting suicide threats, police involvement in weapon-related incidents, and the establishment of guidelines for suicide-related deaths. Findings reveal gaps in protocol clarity, interagency coordination, and response efficiency. Based on these insights, the study recommends the development of well- defined policies, mandatory crisis response training, and strengthened multi-sectoral partnerships to enhance suicide prevention and intervention efforts within the university setting.
