New records and additional notes on Philippine mealybugs (Pseudococcidae,Coccoidea,Hemiptera)

Abstract

New faunal records, additional notes and corrections to the author's previous works on Philippine mealybugs are presented. The genus undescribed Lit and its type species, I. celatus Lit, are synonymized with Kiritshenkella Borchsenius and K. lingnani (Ferris)(=Pseudantonina Lingnani Ferris), respectively. Paracoccus neocarens (Lit) is presented as a new combination. Allococcus morrisoni Ezzat & McConnell (=Planococcus morrisoni), is also transferred to Paracoccus and the new name, Paracoccus interceptus Lit is proposed to replace it, to avoid junior secondary homonymy with Paracoccus morrisoni (Brittin). Synacanthococcus bispinosus Morrison is redescribed and lectotypified. Notes on three undetermined, possibly undescribed species are included.
