Abstract

The Red Systems Company Inc. is an organization aiming to be the largest logistics provider in the Philippines. It is the main logistics provider for the Coca-cola Bottlers Incorporated. For 150 hours, the student underwent plant practice in the said company and was assigned to different parts of production: microbiology department, quality assurance, bottle washer area, and the logistics department. Being assigned to these parts of production, different tests such as methylene blue test, caustic residue test, all surface electronic bottle inspection, temperature and pressure monitoring, sectional weights, fill height monitoring, and pressure and gas volume were performed. During the students stay in the microbiology department, different microbial tests for different microorganisms were learned. Different tests for water treatment as well as its production were also learned by the student. Also, different strategies involved in effective distribution of the products were also learned. During the whole stay, it was found out that pieces of equipment used for analysis such as laminar flow hood and set of steel funnels were insufficient. Thus, it was recommended to purchase additional pieces of such equipment in order to increase efficiency.
