Abstract

Diplocyclos palmatus, of the family Cucurbitaceae, was the subject of a cytological study. Their microspore mother cells were examined at various stages of meiosis. The gametic chromosome number was determined to be n=12. Still, several cells showed a range of n=10, 11, 13 chromosomes. Abnormalities were relatively high, as observed in the various stages of meiosis. Sticky chromosomes at metaphase and anaphase, plus occasional laqgards, ring formation, bridges were among the abnormalities observed.
