Abstract

The major practice was conducted at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City, Metro Manila from May to July 2015. The general objective was to learn and gain knowledge on the various interior landscaping operations done during events. Two events were analyzed, one area was chosen for each event. The step-by-step installation for each event was examined. Interior landscape operations involve scheduling, giving of specifications, distribution of tasks, selection and screening of plants, transport of materials, setting up, polishing, inspection, and dismantling. Factors such as site characteristics, interior landscape operations, softscapes and hardscapes, communication, budget, and time management are the foundations in achieving successful interior landscape operations. In the case of this study, the plants did not stay indoor for more than two days which is why the effect of site characteristics was not properly observed. Application and execution of proper interior landscape operations minimize stress incurred by the plant. Enough supply of softscapes and hardscapes also affects the quality of installations. Communication is essential to meet client's satisfaction. When it comes to setting up for events, last minute changes should always be accounted for when managing time. Budget was the least concern for this event because PICC has allotted budget for the interior landscape installations.
