Abstract

This study entitled Evaluation of the Financial Performance of the Katipunan Ng Kooperatibang Manggagatas, Ink. (KKMI) in Calauan Laguna, 2010-2015 was done to evaluate the financial performance of the cooperative. Specifically, the study was conducted to describe the organizational structure and operation of the cooperative.Descriptive method was used in characterizing the business operation of the cooperative. On the other hand, different analytical tools were used in determining the financial performance of the cooperative including cost and return analysis and financial ratios. In cooperatives organizational structure, it was headed by the general assembly, followed by the Board of Directors, Managing Director and different committees namely: audit, election, ethics and mediation and conciliation committee. The business operation of the cooperative was mainly collection, processing and marketing of the dairy products from the dairy products from the raw milk produced by the farmer-members. Profitability, efficiency, liquidity and solvency were considered in looking at the financial analysis showed that KKMI was profitable, efficient, liquid and solvent for the years 2010-2015 but the indicators show a decreasing trend. The study showed that the cooperative has been very effective in its operation since it was found profitable, liquid, and solvent and efficiency for the years 2010-2015. These results on the other hand, showed that the trend of the indicators was on a decreasing track. It implied that the cooperative has to do something to prevent a problem in the future. Majority of the farmer-members lack proper training and knowledge in dairy production. The cooperative has to provide such assistance for better quality of raw milk produced. The cooperative should conduct of trainings and seminars. Technical services from the government must be provided for farmers to improve their milking operations that cause law supply and low quality of milk for cooperative. Also, the cooperative should think of other ways to encourage other farmers to engage in dairy farming.
