Abstract

Ito-Seisakusho Philippines Corporation manufactures die and press products. Press production is located both on company's Building 1 and Building@. For January to June of 2012, Building 2 had an average efficiency of 20.73% while the company wants 29.15% efficiency. Furthermore, high machine downtime averaging to 337.3 minutes on daily basis was observed on the section. As an effect, above the allowable overtime has been incurred to cope up with the demand. Solutions derived from the root-cause analysis included implementing of improved daily job assignment, having die trial trainees, complete updating of the individual machine boards, permanently transferring 1 operator from Building 1, reassigning the scrap related task, implementing a Building 2 Flag System improving the production board, and eliminating the finished masspro location. Upon implementation of the recommendations, Building 2 would increase its efficiency by 60.88%-from 20.73% to 33.35%. And, that is equivalent to a net benefit of 1,568,987.56 Php upon year of implementation.
