Abstract

Meliponaries in the Bicol region were evaluated for the production and utilization of bee and bee products. Market flow of the products from the various meliponaries was also documented. A variety of production techniques were employed in the different meliponaries. Use of either coconut shells or boxes showed differences in hive entrances, hive structures and volume of production. Market flow of bee products was within the barangay / municipality, province and regions in the Philippines and other countries. Pricing of products differed.
