Abstract
The extent of turfgrass utilization in various landscapes was examined. A detailed discussion of the operations of a golf course highlighted the use of imported hybrid varieties of turfgrasses. Characterization of the most popular turfgrass varieties was done to understand the reasons for the popularity of these plants as ground cover. Assessment of a simple turfgrass production system, identification of existing laws supporting urban greening, and identification of the stakeholders and their linkages were used to make a projection of the future of the country's turfgrass industry'.
